Sherwood Forrester and Sir Nigel Gresley running through Mancetter
Nice video :)
I've driven this rout it's a breathtaking experience
used to drive back of Natmor single track and from Cresor to tany bwlec
Superb stumpy..😉
thank's bullet
superb layout
All 3 tunnels are a testament to the people who built them.
Actually this is a Br Standard 9F 'Leicester City'. The Original 'Cock 'O' The North was an LNER Class P2 2-8-2 locomotive.
Fantastic layout. Nicely operated
it is beautiful except for the central driving position. for me it is a nonsense
Is that u Wayne?
yes that's him
I volunteer with him at pugneys lol

@@peter15871 Cool!
Does this prototype have a steam condenser?
There is no prototype as the loco is not a model. Just a small experimental turbine in 5" gauge. No condenser, the exhaust goes up the blast pipe, but you need the blower on as although there's a lot of exhaust it will not draw the fire sufficiently.
@@69woodburner And where can you find out about this prototype on the net, especially about the turbine and engine characteristics?
@@69woodburner By the way, are there models of trains operating on an overheated couple of degrees like ,, flash steam engine boats ,,?
@@user-yr4ii4su1v Not that I know of. This loco has stainless steel radiant super heaters which come right through the boiler to the back of the firebox.
@@user-yr4ii4su1v I don't think there is anything on the net about it. It has a three nozzle Stumpf turbine with a vertical shaft in the front bogie. There is a single nozzle reverse turbine on the same shaft to stop the loco. The boiler runs at 100psi. There are a couple more videos of it on my channel. One taken in 2009 with the builder driving.
Em portugal será muito dificil obter permissão para circular com um carro anfibio, visto termos um governo de merda que obriga a comprar nacional aplicando taxas altas a um veiculo importado. Falta saber se anda assim em areia como anda na estrada.
What gauge is it
5"gauge prototype not a model
Sounds well, done much to it ???
sorry john its not mine i just videod the ride around
Very nice video! Can you please explain the title? We're based near Morley (Leeds) and that track definitely isn't near us!
ah ha yes it was taken at Morley in derbyshire at my club derbysmee , hopefully this clears things up ,on facebook type in morley railway. please ask if you want anymore info
plus you wont see us on google earth we are hidden in a small wooded area we are situated close by morley golf club

Wonder about the difference between piston and turbine locomotives😊 hp,nm and speed. Consumptions
Turbine locomotives used MASSIVE amounts of steam, which is why they were proved unreliable. However they were pretty fast. I don't remember exactly, but I'd say about 100 miles an hour
turbine is literally a turbine
Turbine is faster and Piston is more power, I think.
Piston= high efficiency on medium and low speeds Turbine= high efficiency on high speeds
That's the one absolutely brilliant, thanks Peter, it is now in my favorites
Ok brian always a pleasure
Peter, have you still got the film of your loco close up near the turn table with the sound and exhaust noise. I can't find it and would love to put it in my favourites, thankyou.
See what I can do brian
very good
Somebody put a lot of time and dedication into that, that's absolutely incredible.
This is the Mk 3 version of the device. Built by the late Peter Southworth of Southworth pumps and engines.
How is steam transmitted to the turbine. Is it steam reg and nozzle governance, or just the latter with a master steam valve??
The loco has a main stop valve on the backhead. She has three ahead nozzles controlled by a lever on the footplate. There is an astern nozzle controlled by a similar but separate nozzle valve. These work on an on or off priciple as it is a waste of steam to throttle a nozzle. I only do that for shunting purposes where very little power is needed.
That seems to go very well. Apart from glazing the cab windows, is the loco modified at all from standard Kingscale spec? Does it have a truck-mounted water tank (mine gets through the standard water tankage in one circuit of our big track).? Lucky that derailed pony truck (at the start of the run) re-railed itself quickly!
Great video. Have you done anything to improve it ?
45 views yet only 3 likes,it's only a click,not that hard and it;s free
Great bit of onboard footage of a great little railway.
Now that sounds better stumpy.. I could make it better. Stick legomans sound in and a couple of EM4'S . It will boom then!!
